Wedding Registration @ KB Court

Yesterday was my brother's wedding registration day. It was suppose to be last week but was postponed to yesterday due to unavailabilty of the staff at the court.

My bro look fresh and gave us a big smile yesterday when we came to pick him up, despite of him returning from work at 12.30 midnight. We were almost blind by him as he came out from the house! He was wearing bright red...hehehe....Ah well, it's his special day and he need red to brighten the day and a sign of happiness. Then later we went to the florist to get a bouquet of 9 roses for the wife to be in over an hour time.

As we reach there, we saw another lady wearing red!! And it's my brother's fiancee! hehe...No wonder lah...berjanji already to wear red.

As we enter the court building, the security in charge was my old classmate! It's always nice to meet an old friend eh! We proceed to the Civil Wedding Registry and then came this lady who turn out to be my cousin's sister-in-law. Gosh, didn't know that we have relatives working in there..hehe...

We were asked to wait for awhile for the Registrar to arrive. As usual, I took photographs of the event. Nowadays, people are crazy to have their photograph taken! Like the old days, people seems to be shy....hehe....

Masa sibuk sibuk mengambil gambar, then came in the registrar. Then I was like...not another one!! The registrar is my auntie's niece, Dk. Masni. What a small world! hehe...We totally didn't expect her to be the registrar...

After the exchange of vow and rings, the Registrar congratulate both of them. There is one sentence that she says that make me laugh is "Congratulation! Now I pronouce you husband and wife. Congratulation Mr. Chua and Congratulation Mrs. Chua...and get used to it!!" hehehe..

The registration went well and now it is official that I have a sister-in-law!

Favourite Place For Car Accident?

YES, it's at Kiarong/Kiulap roundabout. This is the most favourite place for ignorant motorist to get an accident. It always happen at the junction leaving the roundabout.

Baby Chloe's Growing Up Video

Chloe is growing really fast. She is already 2 months 23 days. Gosh I can see the changes in her development over the last 2 months. When she arrived home for the first time, all she did was sleep and sleep. Then after few weeks, she is more alert and start looking at things. And now over 2 months, she start to laugh, baby talk and love watching TV! Not sure it's a good or bad thing for a baby..hehe..

Although she is not my child, but by the end of the working day, got home and look at her, she really can cheer you up.

DHI Water Environment talk @Empire

My colleague and I were invited to attend a talk regarding a software called MIKE at Empire Hotel & Country Club this morning. It is a DHI software where it is use to model from water supply to flood. Quite an interesting talk. It was presented by Chris who is currently working with DHI Malaysia based in Kota Kinabalu. And a guest speaker from Germany...can't recall his name...opppsss...hehe..

The talk lasted for 2 hours and then lunch at Atrium. Seriously, I was quite surprise of the arrangement. The talk was free and we have such a luxury lunch...I really didn't expect that coming! hehe

Food Testing For My Brother's Wedding

December 15, 2007 will be one of the most memorable day for our family as we welcome another new member to the family. My eldest brother will be getting married.

At the moment, we are quite busy preparing for his wedding. We have to hunt high and low for the emcee, photographers, decorator for the stage and bride & groom's car.

Normally, before the actual day of the wedding, we were asked to try the food that will be serve on that day. Oh by the way, the wedding will be held at Orchid Garden Hotel. My sister's wedding was held here as well last year. They serve excellent food and great service.

I didn't eat much for lunch as I was reserving my tummy for the food. hehehe.. Below are few of the dishes that will be served on the wedding reception. I missed taking picture on some of the dishes as I was so concentrated on the food that I totally forgot about taking the pic..hehe.

Pasar Malam Gadong

A friend of mine sms me and asked me if I can do her a favour. She asked me to get Kueh Malaya at the Pasar Malam @Gadong for her. Gosh, the last time i was there was in 1996, i think. That was the time Im on my final year at MDPMAB doing my 'A' Level.

Driving to that area is not easy! Traffic and difficult to get a parking. Eventually I got one which is near to the tents...BUT there is a sign in front saying "Tidak DiBenarkan Meletak Kenderaan pada hari Jumaat dan Ahad" Hmmm....my brain was thinking..shall i move to other parking place or just take the chance of getting towed! Being a good bruneian..I move my car to other parking slot....NOT!!! I just park my car there..hehe...

I was told to look for Stall 62 for the Kueh Malaya. It took me awhile to walk around that area and look for the stall. Most of the numbering are no longer there but I manage to find the stall. The Kueh Malaya there so laku lah. I have to queue for it.

Didn't spend too much time there cos I can't stand the smoke from other stalls. hehe.. I had a busy day anyway helping parents on their new home.

Want A Piece of my Apple?

My world of IT suddenly change after I decided to buy an Apple that was partly eaten.... I have never been interested in using Apple eversince I tried using it a donkey years ago. It was so complicated and just don't like it. Until lately, Apple came out with such a wonderful look on their computer and also it's function. A friend of mine bought a 20" iMac and told me what it can do!! I was so tempted and decide to go Apple shop in Kiulap. After messing around with their computer there, i was thinking, shall I get the 20" iMac or Apple Mac Mini. All the $$$$ sign just flowing through my head! Finally I decide to get Apple Mac Mini.

I just love this piece of equipment.I was stuck in front of my computer for hours! I'm still trying to learn how to use it!

R.I.C.H.A.R.D

Lately, I have been very busy with one particular chores until I ignore my work. So busy that it strain my eyes, looking at the monitor for over 12 hours a day!

The chores I am talking about is the new found friend communicator site called FACEBOOK! I bet most of you know about it! It's crazy! I have it registered years ago but was never active with it. Until recently when I start adding friends and playing some addicted games like True or False, Scrabulous and others. There are lots of things to do in Facebook! You will never get bored with it. One good tips, if you are bored at work, go to Facebook and register (if u don't have one). You will like it! hehe...

Anyway, one of the add-on in Facebook is "Name Analyzer". So my name came out to be :

Good eh. So better choose a good name for your children next time..hehe.. Back to my facebook :)

Just For Laugh

Just got a forwarded email from a friend and decide to share with you. I have to censored one word which is repeatedly mentioned. I'm sure you can guess it ^_^

A woman is at home when she hears someone knock at the door. She goes to the door and opens the door to see a man standing there. He asks the lady...

"Do you have a vagxna?".

She slams the door in disgust.

The next morning she hears a knock at the door and it is the same man and he asks the same question of the woman...

"Do you have a vagxna?"

She slams the door again.

Later that night when her husband gets home she tells him what has happened for the last two days. The husband tells the wife in a loving and concerned voice...

"Honey I am taking tomorrow off to be home just in case this guy shows up again".

The next morning they hear a knock at the door and both run for the door. The husband says to the wife in a whispered voice...

"Honey, I'm going to hide behind the door and listen and if it is the same guy I want you to answer YES to the question because I want to see where he is going with it".

She nods yes to her husband and opens the door.

Sure enough the same fellow is standing there and asks the same question.

"Do you have a vagxna?".

"Yes" she says......

The man replies....

"Good! Would you mind telling your husband to leave my wife's alone and start using yours ?"

The Other Office

Quite a funny thing happen just before lunch. I asked my friend where are we going for lunch. And he say The Other Office. When I'm hungry,I can't think straight.. and I asked "Bahapa makan at your other office??" My friend was confused! He say the name of the restaurant is THE OTHER OFFICE.. hehe...malu lah..

So we went there and were greeted by the waitress. Very friendly and cosy place. The layout look a bit like the new Taurean Cafe @ The Arch. Being a cafe, there's not much choice of food for lunch but I manage to order Nasi Ayam Rendang and my friend ordered Mee Rebus Special which is a recommended dish by the waitress. The service was really fast. Presentation of the food is good..but then again good presentation doesn't mean the food taste good right? BUT this one taste good..hehehe...I give them a 8/10 score.

As we finished our lunch, then came the floor manager and introduce us with their dessert. First thing came to my mind was :

"Oh No..do we have to pay for that?!"

The floor manager say,

" This is our Signature dessert call "Kueh Lopez" ,although some customers asked for Jennifer Lopez...hehe.. It is our complimentary food for you and thank you for your support."

Was touched by it...Hey..This is my first time that I go to a restaurant or cafe that give complimentary food. The dessert was good! I was thinking if only they give us Custard cream and pour over it..and my friend was saying..

"Kalau ada santan cream, nyaman ni!!"

Yummmmyyy..... Too bad I didn't take a pic of it!

Took this picture during lunch time. Just realise that Chloe is a morning baby. She loves to smile and baby talk during day time. When it come to night time, she rarely smile eventhough how hard we try to make stupid faces....hehehe...

Great To Run Again

It's been over 2 months since I do any running exercise. Eversince baby Chloe was born, I just can't wait to get home and look at her cute face..hehe.. Can't imagine when I have my own children..hmmmm....

Went to Damuan Park to do my running and a female friend of mine decide to join in. Few things happen during the run. While we were running, we heard a loud screeching sound and a bang! Was looking around and saw a car accident. Good thing it's just a minor accident. One of the cars bumper fell off. Don't think it's a police case as there were no sign of police. Damuan area is prone to accidents. So many accidents happen there and still motorist drive at break neck speed.

Then I saw one of this runner whom I saw running at this park for the past few months. The first time I saw him if I'm not mistaken was in July. He is one very very fat man. I think he is in his early 20's ! I'm not being nasty here...that's is just how I describe about him. But one thing that really impress me about him is that he keep on running and running and by the time I stopped running, he is still running. And now, after over 2 months of me not going to Damuan, I saw him today and I just can't believe my eyes. He lost so much of his weight! I think he have reduces 3 times of his body size when I last saw him in September. I say to myself, if I am brave enough, I will approach to him and congratulate him!! I was really amazed...I wish I can be like him....

And the last thing that cracks me up before we head home was what my female friend says to me. After I told her about how that guy lost so much weight, and she started saying, "I used to be fat few years back"....and I was looking at her up and down...and say ...."and?"......with her body and face expression, she says "LOOK AT ME NOW!!" I just can't stand it and burst to laugh. Luckily there wasn't many people at that time. hehehe... Hey Miss A, if you read this blog, don't marah ah....hehehe..But you do slim down ^_^

Anyway, I have an enjoyable "run" today and more to come.

Never like Monday! hehe.. I have such a relaxing weekend and wish Monday never arrive. What to do....

Saturday

• Work half day ...




• Went to my parents' place in muara and check on the renovation of the house ...
• Stayed at home and playing with my niece ^_^ . She wasn't feeling well. She is coughing and having cold. Poor baby




• Sleep early

Sunday

• Woke up at 10.30am and stayed in bed till 11..hehe




• Had my brunch at 11.30 and later lunch at 1pm... No wonder I'm getting FAT!




• Around 2pm, went out with a friend cos he need to change his car's brake light! I can even change it for him but NOOoooo..he want to bring it to the car shop!


• Went to au Liat at Kiulap Mall for afternoon tea break. I ordered Egg Sandwich with fries and guess what came out...BEEF BURGER with fries... I'm sure I pronounce Egg very clearly...Anyway, I had the beef burger .. hehe


• Went to my parents in the evening with my sis and little Chloe. That's the first time baby Chloe go to my parents' place. Didn't bring her earlier cos the house is just too dusty and not healthy for the baby.


• Slept at 2am after watching 6 episodes of Brother and Sister. Not really into it at first, but my friend recommended it to me and lend me Brother and Sister First Season. Wasn't that interesting on the first episode but as I continue watching it, I just want to watch it and wish I can finish the whole season last night! hehe.. But my eyes failed me!

Work Trip To SG

I was in Singapore since Monday 29 October till 31 October 2007 to attend a training on managing a project. Arrived Singapore on 29 October at 1420 hours. Weather wasn't promising at all.

After we check into the hotel, the 6 of us decide to go to Mustafa, one of the biggest shopping mall in Singapore...I think. They just have so many things in there! Not all the things there are cheap but if I am to buy the things there, I'm sure i will have to pay for my excess baggage..hehe.. Later that night, we went to Esplanade Mall to have our dinner. We had seafood at No Signboard Seafood. The food was excellent!! Although one of my colleague order Drunken Bull Frog! I didn't even bother to try!

The next day, after a long day of training, we went to Clarke Quay. Never been there so do not know what I'm expecting. When we got there, I just love the place. Lots of beautiful restaurants and also sexy waitress (I want to describe in here, but I think it will be too adultery) hehe...Had our dinner at Highlander. Really nice food and the price was reasonable. We were planning to go to Boat Quay, but time didn't permit us. Will go there some other time :) Took some pictures of that place using my mobile phone and you can see it from my photo slide.

The next day, we have to check out by 7am as our flight is at 9am. Didn't sleep well the night before so didn't get up for my breakfast :( As soon as we reach Brunei, 2 of my colleagues and myself have to prepare for a presentation to our client at 2pm. We have 2 of our Australian colleagues joining us too. Later that night we had our dinner at one of the popular restaurant in Brunei. I will let you guess which restaurant it is by looking at the picture :)

What I Did Yesterday..

Called up my hairdresser yesterday to have my haircut. I was told she wasn't in and is in Philippines now. Then I ask when is she coming back...and the lady say, "Oh, tidak balik lagi Sir." I was like...what the F&%^$...There goes again my favourite hairdresser! Why all the good hairdresser have to leave Brunei.

Anyway, I went back to one of my friends friend's hair salon in Gadong. It's called Shahdon Style Icon at Kiulap. I'm sure some people will know this Salon. My first intention is just to have my haircut but somehow when I enter the salon, i decide to dye my hair. It's been over 2 years since I last dye my hair due to hair problem :( But since my hair is getting better now, I decide to have it done. Trying to keep the dye away from my scalp, so Shadon use those aluminium foil on my hair. I laugh at myself when I look myself in the mirror...

I look like an alien on a human body..hehe..Took over 1 hr to have it done and my haircut. It turn out nice. If anyone of you interested to try Shahdon Salon, you can go to 2nd Floor just above Mamih Restaurant in Kiulap.

Another Accident!

There are more and more accident happening in Brunei especially this big roundabout at Kiarong. Some Bruneian motorist still do not understand how to use the roundabout and that's always the cause of unwanted accident.

To those motorist who do not know how to use the roundabout or ignorant motorist, please do watch RTB on how to use the Kiarong roundabout! Understand how to use the roundabout before pointing finger at others!

Smoking In The Restaurant

How would you feel if someone smoke in a restaurant? Will you enjoy your food if you start sniffing the cigarette smoke? For sure I won't.

Yesterday, I have called to the Ministry of Health and make a customer complaint on one of the restaurant that I go regularly for lunch. Been going to this particular restaurant for the past 3 years and yesterday was the time where I have to take action.

When I first tried the food in this restaurant, I was really pleased with it. The environment was good, clean, relaxing and not forgetting polite waitresses. This is the type of restaurant where everyone wants but not until last year where I was annoyed with their customers who start smoking in the restaurant. There are few NO SMOKING sign on the wall of the restaurant. I called the waitress and told them that customer are not allowed to smoke in the restaurant and her answer was, "Kami tegur sudah tapi mereka tak mau dengar..." and the sentence that annoyed me is "Kalau kami tegur, nanti tak ada customer" So what does that mean? The management of this restaurant break all the rules and doesn't care about other customer's health. I answered them back and say "You might as well remove all the NO SMOKING sign in this restaurant!" And guess what!! I can't see the NO SMOKING sign on the wall anymore on my next visit to the restaurant!

I really can't believe my eyes! And eversince that, more customer came and start smoking. I repeatedly warn the waitresses that I will make a complaint to MOH if they don't do anything about it. I even told them I need to see their boss and they always say the boss is not in! A year pass and I gave them a last chance before Puasa and they blew it yesterday!

You might ask why I still go to that restaurant? The answer to that are :

1. Easy place to have lunch

2. The food are very nice, healthy and price are reasonable

3. Friendly waitresses

Customer who smoke in a restaurant may get to a fine of B$1000 and owner of the restaurant can get a fine of B$10,000 and may even have their business license terminated.

Wet Weather Until End of The Year

The weather for the past week has not been stable. Mix of rain and hot weather and this causes alot of people to get sick :( Drink lots of fluid and take fruits to keep you away from sore throat, fever and so on.

Anyway, a reminder to all regarding the news that was published in Brudirect regarding the wet weather. Dun think I need to elaborate more as the news says it all.

"Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei currently experiencing continuous rain is expected to stay wet till the end of this year, the weather forecaster of the Meterological Services Department told the Weekend yesterday. A brief downpour yesterday afternoon caused low-lying areas to be submerged in water including the Beribi light industrial area, notorious for being flood-prone. Drivers were seen facing an uphill battle yesterday to make sure that their cars did not break down. The weather forecaster added the Sultanate is in the inter monsoon season which brings about lots of rain.

He even predicted more rain in the north-east monsoon. "It is quite usual for such a downpour especially in the afternoon," he added.

Transformer have been one of my favourite childhood robot transformation cartooons. There are few others like Challenge of the Gobot, Voltron...and lots more...can't remember the name now..hehe... Unfortunately, there isn't any new robot transformation cartoon on TV now :(

Anyway, I am so free at work, so decide to browse through some site and found FunFlip. There are lots of things in there and found "Which Transformer Are You?" NBT Hari Raya Decoration

I have been taking photos of NBT festivity decoration for the past two years. It's something that everyone is waiting every year on how will be the decoration like for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Christmas.

I managed to take few shots of the decoration last night around 10pm and gosh..there are still many people wander around there to take pictures :) If you want to take picture of the decoration without anyone there, the best time is around 7-9pm. After that, there will be many people just filling up the decoration in minutes.

Have a look at the pictures below that was taken last year and this year. They must have put alot of ideas and creativity to have such a nice decoration...although we thought some of the decoration stuffs are recycle from last year...hehe...But hey..why waste the things if it still works!

First of all I would like to thank IATAHNI Blog for making my blog as Iatahni's Blog of The Week.

I checked my 'Worth a Comment' column this morning before I left for work and there wasn't any new message. After doing some unneccessary work in the office and since I'm so free too..oppss...hope my boss never read this...hehe...so around 11am I checked my blog again and there are few new messages!! It's always exciting to see the messages that reader write. But the last few messages was different and really special....

Really didn't expect my blog to be selected..hehe... Anyway Thanks again to Iatahni Blog for making my blog as Iatahni Blog Of The Week ...eh eh macam bunyi Pelangi FM for Artist of The Month.. hehe

Visiting the wrong house?!

I had a bit of a shock when I heard a loud bang outside the house. At first I thought the fan that dad's is fixing exploded. Went out and saw dad was ok. Dad pointed out that a bird have knocked on our windows and fell down on the floor.

First thing came to my mind is..there's goes another bird accidentally knocked on our window and will die. It was breathing very fast. So i just left it there for awhile and went back to the house. Then later, I saw the bird was on its feet :) Feel really good about it and walk to the bird and manage to take a picture of it while i stroke he bird. Really don't know what bird it is but it's my first time to stroke a bird and capture it on camera :) I think the bird is a bit drowzy 'ayong' after the hit. Went back to the house but I do constantly look at the bird to see how it is doing. After awhile, I walk to the bird and it flew off. Glad it has recover :)

Dad was saying, 'Mesti ia kan beraya bah tu, sekali terlanggar jendela atu..hehehe. Salah rumah lagi tu..adakah di aga rumah cina..hehe"

Hari Raya Falls on 13 October 2007

As predicted, Hari Raya will fall on 13 October 2007. It means we will have Monday off too :) But unfortunately Hari Raya falls on my off day. Most of the public holiday this year falls on my off day..sigh..

Moving House Is Hard To DO!

I thought breaking up is hard to do...MOVING house is even worst! I have been helping my parents moving stuffs to our 'New' house for the past one week. I took a week leave just to help them!

First & second day of my leave was packing! Imagine that we have to pack the stuffs in house that we have stayed for 20 years! It was murdering packing all the things. Then came the third to the seventh day...its MOVING time..from KB to Bandar! Imagine the time to take us driving from one point to the other. We started around 8 am in the morning everyday. Load 3 4WD cars and then drove to Bandar which took about 1 hr 15 mins. Unload the stuffs and then drove back to KB again! The worst part is driving the van which have a speed indicator! As soon as I drove above 50km/h, it will start a short beep and a long beep over 70km/h! There was one time when i overtook a lorry and the beeping go crazy and guess what..it keep beeping very fast! If the police see both the speed indicator is on..I can end up getting fined! Good thing I didn't. hehe

We will move the furniture soon as our living room at the new place is under renovation. Will post the before and after picture of our house soon. ^_^

NOW WECAN .. NOW WECANNOT!

I'm sure some of you have heard what had happen to this particular restaurant that have become a major headline for Brunei bloggers! It's really unbelievable to read what the owner has done and the way the owner treat their customer. After reading from here, I was really shocked on what had happen. After thinking about it, I'm sure there are two sides of the story which we will never know.

Then later Mr. Blog and Miss Blog confront the owner and agreed to video their interview. After all that was done and video was published on the blog (which I missed), the owner sms Miss Blog to take the video off cos they said that they have told her not to record the interview at the first place?!

NOW, let me ask you....What does this tell you about the owner of the restaurant?! The owner just twisted his or her words. Who can believe the owner now? I'm sure with this sort of attitude, the restaurant will definitely go down hill for charging customer on the food they didn’t consume and also using such a harsh words on their customer. They have to remember that, THERE ARE MANY RESTAURANTS in Brunei. Without their restaurant exist in Brunei, it will not make any difference... instead people will have a very bad memory of them! Think about it!

Happy 60th Birthday

After yesterday dinner for Chloe's Man Yek, tonight we had a birthday dinner for my dad. Normally we have our birthday dinner in a restaurant, but this year we decide to do it at home.
