Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Taking this opportunity to Happy 24th National Day to our beloved country, Brunei Darussalam. Didn't manage to watch the live telecast of the colourful event that was held at Taman Sir Omar Ali Saifuddin this morning. Was too tired and woke up at almost 12pm!

Went out though around 2pm to town. There are lots of people in town! Since it's a public holiday today, there are alot of foreign workers wander around the shopping malls. I went to Yayasan and there are lots of people doing their shopping and furthermore there is a motor exhibition. Didn't go and see it though.

Had my late lunch at Foodzone at Yayasan and later went to one of the corner and saw few artists as in drawing artists...they are really good!! Manage to snap one of the artists drawing..I was amazed with his drawing!

At Pizza Hut now and we can hear the staffs having fun karaoke-ing...hehehe...and I am one of them too..lol... They are having party here tonite! Good for them!

Happy Chap Goh Meh

In Hokkien dialect, it means the 15th night of Chinese New year. It is celebrated with prayers and offerings to mark the end of the Chinese New Year. Houses are again brightly decorated with lights for the last day of the celebration. Legend has seem young unmarried women throwing tangerines into the sea hoping to find a good husband. After this day, business as usual and everyone is looking forward for the next Chinese New Year.

Don't waste the skin...be creative...hehe

Back To Work - Tiring Weekend

Let me recap my trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from 14 February 2008 till 17 February 2008.

I went to KK flying via RBA with few friends. This is my first time flying to KK and was told that it only took 20mins to get there although the ticket say 40mins! Sat on the plane and surprisingly the flight is full with noisy passengers! Tourists from a noisy country..hehe...

I think it was only 10mins on the air when it was announced that we have to return to our seat and put on our seat belts. I was laughing when I heard that cos never in my traveling life that it took so fast to get to another country.

KKIA is under renovation and it looks like it's gonna be big and look as good as KLIA.

Night 1

Check in to the hotel and just dump or stuffs on the floor and went out for dinner. Lapar kali ah..No food served on the plane..

Didn't do much really. Just walk around the shops nearby and head back to the hotel. Early night

Day 2

Woke up around 7ish and getting ready for breakfast ^_^. We went down to the hotel restaurant and take our breakfast. The food was ok and the service was good. Very friendly staffs.

After breakfast, we went round KK City. Went to the their shopping mall like Warisan Square, Centrepoint and Parksons. Manage to get a pendant for myself. I have my name in Chinese and a picture of tiger craft on the pendant. Looks really nice and only cost me RM20. That's all i get that day! Nothing to buy in KK!

Went back to the hotel around 4pm and went to the gym and swimming pool. Spend a good 1 hour over there when it start to rain!

Weather wasn't promising that night so we went to the nearest restaurant for dinner...KFC! Since the weather wasn't that good, we went to a bar and hang out till late.

Day 3

Woke up and the cloud was so dark and the windows are covered with raindrops! Our plan for that day was to travel to KK National Park and Porring Hot Spring but that have to cancel due to the wet weather! Can't do much that day as it rain from morning till around 6 I guess. It was really a boring day for us! Then later we decide to go to Karaoke bar and waste our time. We really wasted our time until 2am! hehehe...

Day 4

Did a last minute shopping for my mom...buying dried prawn. Before I left for KL, mom advise me to get the dried prawn at the KK market and must get those which is not reddish in colour as they put dye on it. Get those with natural prawn colour and should not cost more than RM35 per kg. Found a stall that sell for RM35.50 and it doesn't take me alot of energy to bargain as she offer me RM20 per kg! Apa lagi, I buy lah! Murah kali ah! hehe

Then around 3pm we head off to airport.

Overall, I sort of enjoy my trip there...at least I can relax my mind.

I will upload some photo in here soon.

Rain Rain Go Away . . I'm On Holiday!

The weather in KK wasn't good at all today! It has been raining all day! We went to Parkson to do some shopping. The weather was already cloudy when we walk there and didnt even realise that it was raining so heavy when we were doing our shopping. Got stuck in the shopping mall!

Getting bored of stranded in the shopping mall, we decide to run to the nearest building and walk along it and finally reach the hotel! Crazy weather!

2nd Day In Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu Here I Go!!

Leaving for KK today. It's been awhile since I was there...probably about 4 years! I am looking forward to the seafood and bars! hehe..I try not to eat too much of seafood otherwise I will peel again!

Flying off to KK with few friends via RBA. Wanted to fly using AirAsia cos of better price but what's the point of me flying to KK alone and at a different time from RBA.. If you understand what I am trying to say then "MUN FAHAM, BISAI"

The other alternative way to get to KK is by driving...and still it's a No No!! Then again, it's best not to drive at this time of the year as it is really wet. It has been raining and before you can get to KK, you have to drive though Temburong! I'm sure some of you have heard that Temburong was flooded and lots of KK goers got stuck at Temburong border! I manage to get some photos from a friend whose friend's was driving back to Brunei from KK.

Temple @ Muara - 1st Day CNY

Here are some of the photos that I took at the temple in Muara. I went there with my family at around 12.30am on the 1st Day of CNY.

5th Day of Chinese New Year

Wow...it's already the fifth day of Chinese New Year! This Golden Rat run really fast eh... I have been really busy entertaining visitors from first to third day of Chinese New Year.

For the past over 20 years, we have been celebrating Chinese New Year in Seria and Lumut. This year we celebrate Chinese New Year in Muara as my parents moved to Muara recently. It is much easier for my relatives to visit us though since 99% of them live in Brunei Muara district.

On the first day of CNY, my parents invited my mom's side of the family for our open house. My mom have 5 siblings and each of her siblings have children that can form a football team..which mean that they are my cousins! Most of my cousins are married and have their own children. Good thing they know about "FAMILY PLANNING" .. hehe.. Imagine how crowded the house can be and with children running around and shouting! It is fun though to have all of them here to chit chat and gossips...hehe

Second day of CNY are for my father's side of the family. On my father's side, he have 9 siblings and thank god they were educated with family planning..hehe... My uncles and aunties have probably 3 or 4 children only in a family. This side of the family is the quiet type..unlike my mom's side of the family...u can hear them from a kilometer away! Oppsss...did i just say that...Jgn marah ah..hehe

Third day of CNY was for my sis and bro-in-law friends and colleagues. I decide not to do any open house for myself as not many turn up last year and wasted so much food!

Yesterday, came down to KB to attend my brother's open house! Looking at the catering's food make me feel sick! It's almost the same food for the past few days! Didn't eat much though.

Stayed over in Seria as I have to attend the ground breaking ceremony for the Methanol Plant which was held this morning.

Saw few accidents along the way and manage to snap a photo involving 3 cars! Can't really see the dent though....

DRIVE CAREFULLY PEOPLE! THE ROADS ARE SLIPPERY!!

Attended the SMARTER charity last nite at JP Amphitheatre. It was an amazing performance by the SMARTER boys and girls! The local artists were excellent too..especially Putri Norizah although I was expecting Maria to be there. hehehe

Took few photos of the event. Picture wasn't that good as I was sitting on the $15 seats and totally forgotten my camera stand! AH well...here are the photos and you can visit here for more pictures.
