Reach Out, Touch a Heart

Was listening to Pelangi FM yesterday while driving to the client's office. Heard DJ Alif on the radio and gave out a quiz question. The question is something like this ."Lagu artist Brunei boleh didengar melalui Cooltones. Betul atau Salah" Sounds like an easy question so i send sms to answer it. And after he finish playing a song, the winner was announced and it was ME! I was like laughing to myself. Thought that was an easy way to win a prize..hehe..

Well, I won a t-shirt in conjunction of the IM Charity for SMARTER

Human Peelinggggggggg...

Have you ever see snake changing it's skin? I am sure some of you did...BUT....do u ever see a human changes their skin? Well, I do know some one who shed like snakes! This person start shedding his skin at his young age of 12. The only part of the body that the skin shed are his palm and feet. Luckily, the other parts of the body doesn't shed...hehehe..

This normally happen in the month of June or July. During his school day, he will have difficulty holding a pen or even holding a glass. The skin become so dry that it start to crack and bleed. If the feet changes skin, it will start to sweat and smells! Yuck...imagine your socks are wet after school...

But as he grew older, the shedding of his skin gets better. It is not as bad as before. Few years back, he went to see a skin specialist and was advice not to use and eat some food. The things he can't use on his skin are those soap without any moisturiser. So he was advise to use Dove. The things he can't eat or have to control eating are alcohol and seafood especially squid.

Sometime he just ignore the doctor's advise cos if it not the "Season" to shed skin, no matter how much seafood he eat or even soak his hand with washing detergent, his skin will be in good health. He only control his food intake when he see signs of his skin peeling off.

Here is a look of his hand ....Not for the weak stomach...hehe..

It doesn't look that bad from the picture but you will feel disgusted when you see it in person.

Actually the person I am talking about is myself...hehehe...it's my hand and i'm the one who is peeling off...hehe

My skin doesn't shed that bad for the past few years but this year it is bad! One of the main reasons is that I was in Labuan few weeks ago and had too much seafood! I had seafood for lunch and dinner. And then more seafood a few days after labuan.. I just love my seafood especially squid!! hehehe... Well..as people say...No Pain No Gain!

Normally it will take few weeks for my skin to return to normal. I'm hoping it get better for Chinese New Year otherwise it will be embarassing to shake hand with people!

Characteristic of RAT

Personality

Occupying the 1st and most prominent position on the Chinese Zodiac, the Rat symbolizes such character traits as wit, imagination and curiosity. Rats have keen observation skills and with those skills they’re able to deduce much about other people and other situations. Overall, Rats are full of energy, talkative and charming but they have a tendency to become aggressive.

Rats are full of good advice but they will never share their troubles with others. They are honest individuals and they enjoy living for the moment. They’re also capable of surviving any situation.

Health

Overall Rats enjoy good health. They’re very active which helps keep them in shape and able to fight off sickness. They can at times be tense, aggressive, and full of nervous energy, conditions which can lead to stress. Regular exercise designed to calm will benefit Rats.

Relationship

Rats are very charming. They enjoy social activities and because they’re out a lot, they’re always meeting new people. They aren’t good at breaking off relationships however, and this presents problems going forward with new relationships. Anyone hoping to partner with a Rat must be able to keep up with the Rat’s active nature.

Career

Extremely perceptive and wise, Rats can focus on the big picture. That ability along with their good judgment enables Rats to solve problems before they arise. Rats focus on titles because titles translate into status and money; two motivating forces. Rats make excellent bosses. Routine halts their creativity so Rats need flexible positions that allow creativity. Good career choices include: administrator, director, manager, entrepreneur, broadcaster, writer, musician, stand-up comedian, politician, lawyer, researcher, and race car driver.

Rats and The 5 Elements

Metal Rats – Years 1900 and 1960

Metal Rats are strong-willed individuals who are determined to get what they want, regardless of the cost. Intensively emotional, their behavior can border on extreme. Possessive feelings, envy and rage can cause problems. Relationships can be problematic as Metal Rats are obstinate.

Water Rats – Years 1912 and 1972

Water Rats are extremely influential. They’re smart and insightful which makes them excellent at problem-solving. Practical and understanding, Water Rats interact well with and are liked by others.

Wood Rats – Years 1924 and 1984

Not nearly as self-confident as they appear on the surface, Wood Rats will never expose this vulnerability to others. They’re successful despite their perpetual fear of failing. Wood Rats enjoy being with friends and family and fortunately for them, feelings of love and respect are mutual.

Fire Rats – Years 1936 and 1996

Fire Rats enjoy being spontaneous. They enjoy traveling and taking on new tasks and will take on practically any new project or adventure simply to avoid any sense of routine and monotony. They’re zestful, spirited, and giving individuals who are well-liked by others.

Earth Rats – Years 1948 and 2008

Earth Rats prefer a sense of stability, digging in and putting down roots early to help ensure a successful future. They believe that slow and steady is the best approach. Being spontaneous is an inbred trait, but this type of behavior does not suit Earth Rats.

Compatibility

Rats are compatible with a Dragon and Monkey and incompatible with a Horse and Rabbit.

Looking For New Furniture?

Been out and about again today. It's quite a relaxing Sunday. Went to Beetle Bug and got a pair of shoes and sandals :) Chinese New Year is near, so I need new shoes..hehehe. Already bought my new shirt and trousers :) Probably need to get new underwear? hehehe

Then later me and two of my best friends went to au lait to have our afternoon tea. Spend almost an hour there and one of my friend suggest that we go to the new furniture shop in Kiulap called neometro. I think it was open a few days ago.

Went there and the furniture are really cool and modern. The furnitures are a bit pricey but it's worth of getting it if you want a modern looking living room. I bought myself a new 3 pcs single bed set. It come with quilt cover! Normally it cost alot or not easy to get a bed set with quilt. And guess what, it only cost $20.90 and later discounted for $1.

For those who just move to a new house or need a new furniture, you should go there and have a wonderful time browsing their stuffs! They do sell office furniture too!

Shopping Spree Weekend

Chinese New Year is only less than a month away and you can see departmental stores and shops have decorated with beautiful decorations. I am looking forward what NBT will do this year! I bet there will be lots of running mouse around that area..hehe..By the way, this Chinese New Year we welcome the year of the RAT!

Anyway, I was in Miri with a couple of friends and our mission this time is to do some Chinese New year shopping. We went there on the Saturday. The queue at the Brunei immigration wasn't bad at all. Quite a long queue but it was moving fast.

Checked in to the hotel, put our stuffs down and then off to do some shopping! Our first destination was Bintang Plaza. When we got there, we can see cars queuing waiting for parking! Good thing I wasn't driving otherwise I will be frustrated. hehehehe..

One thing I find it funny is that, before Hari Raya, I will be seeing lots of Malay faces around the shopping area buying stuffs for Hari Raya. And this time, I hardly see any malay faces in Bintang Plaza. Lots of chinese looking for new shoes, cloths and so on. And not surprisingly, I met few of my Bruneian friends in Miri with the same intention. Miri has become one of the favourite destinations for Bruneian to do their shopping beside KK. I was a bit worried after knowing that there are so many bruneian cars that have been stolen in Miri. After Bintang Plaza, we went to Boulevard and some other shops.

Had a wonderful and tiring Shopping trip after a long nite on Saturday!

Police Cars of The World

Ever wonder what type of police car does other country drive? In Brunei, correct me if i'm wrong, I guess the police drives Toyota Vios and Holden. Wait till you see what car the police drive in other part of the world. Hold on to your seat and scroll down.....

Germany : Brabus CLS Rocket

With 730hp from a twin-turbo V12 and a top-speed of 225.19mph, the Brabus CLS Rocket is currently the world's fastest legal sedan.

Germany: Porsche 911 Carrera

The Porsche 911 Carrera S has been extensively modified by TechArt for its role as a police car. With a 5 litre V10 and 500hp it's capable of over 186 mph and sprinting to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Austria: Porsche 911

A £65,000 supercar that can do up to 177mph for the Austrian Police

Italy: Lamborghini Gallardo

Lamborghini donated one of these beauties to the Italian Police back in 2004. They probably liked it as they purchased another one a year later for around $166,000. Top speed: 190mph. Powered by a 5 liter V10 with 500hp.

Italy: Smart

Not quite a supercar, but I bet chases on the narrow streets of Rome are much more interesting since the Italian Police got this.

USA: Dodge Magnum
Michigan Police acquired an entire Magnum fleet (they could be used as rams by their looks)

USA : Dodge Viper
Texas' way of welcoming visitors

USA : Corvette C5

USA: Ford Mustang

USA : Hummer H2

700hp Hummer powered by a 7.0L supercharged V8 for a sheriff in Texas

UK : Lamborghini Gallardo

Similar to the Italian Police Gallardo, just with a crappy paint job

UK: Lotus Exige

The Exige is a lightweight, high performance car that accelerates from 0 to 60 faster than typical V8 cars and yet only uses around 5 liters / 100 km.

Australia : Holden VE Commodore

Australia : Alfa Romeo GT

Japan: Nissan Skyline GT-R

China: Hummer (It just HAD to be a replica)

Holland: Spyker C8 Spyder

406hp and a V8 with Lamborghini doors. Maximum speed: 186mph

Canada : Jaguar S Type

Bulgaria : Porsche 911

Saudi Arabia : Lamborghini Gallardo

Yet another Gallardo with a better paint job than the British version.

GAJAH OH GAJAH

Gajah or in English, we call it Elephant. There is a saying that "Elephant Never Forgets" and have a very good memory, so if a person has a memory like an elephant, he or she has a very good memory indeed. And they can look adorable and cute like the picture below

But what happen if you are called a "Gajah" or some other unwanted names beside your own name? I'm sure it is hurtful and unhappy about it right? I'm not saying that I have been called with other names...but just want to state the fact of how people would feel if you were called by unwanted names.

What will come to your mind if someone call you "Gajah" or "female dog *wink*" ? For me, it will look something like this :

Hehehe...that's just one part of my brain thinking...If someone is to call me a Gajah, then I will think that i'm fat and can't walk fast!

I just don't understand why there are people who like to call people such names and hurt their feeling. Probably they are jealous of that person? In secure about themselves? Low self-esteem? For me, no matter how you look, what colour you are, how your physical looks like, you are still a human who breathe the same air and step on the same land.

I like this quote from John Constable

"There is nothing ugly; I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may, -- light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful"

Cuti Cuti Malaysia - Labuan

Labuan....wow, I have not been to Labuan for awhile now!! It's been almost a year since I went there! Time really passes by so quickly...

We took the 7.30am ferry to Labuan. Semangat eh.. My friends from KB left around 4am! And some of them even woke up at 2.45am!! That's what I call "SEMANGAT BERABIS"...hehe... U know who you are.... and they came to pick me up at 6am! Can't believe they were dead on time! Normally they will be late by 30mins or more!

Normally we went to Labuan for clubbing..hehe..and of course some shopping although there is nothing much for me to shop. The girls normally like to go to the market and buy udang kering, ikan masin and some other things lah. This trip were a bit different.

We rented a car which cost us RM160 for 24 hours rental. There were 8 of us so we rented a Toyota Avanza. I drove the car and driving in Labuan is not that bad really. Just like driving in Brunei..lots of idiots motorist! oppss...didn't mean it..hehe...

Being a first timer to drive in Labuan, we do need a map which was provided by the car rental. We went to the WW II Memorial Cemetary, Pohon Batu, Tanjong Aru, Tanjong Ketam and few other places. Our intention is to drive all the way to Tanjong Ketam and find the famous seafood restaurant there. If you have watched, Jalan Jalan Cari Makan in TV3, well Tanjong Ketam was one of the chosen eatery. Good thing we went there early to book a table for 8! We were told by the owner that, it is really a popular place. We ordered Sweet and Sour Crab, Fish cook with????? (can't remember..who cares..it tasted good!), Kangkong and Prawn cook with ???? ..hehe...

oh oh..before we went to Tanjong Ketam, we drove to Pohon Batu. It's an old village with beautiful long stretch of beach! While driving along the beach, I saw a couple "making out" ... with cloths on of course...hehehe... Strange enough my eyes catches those things easily! hehehe... We then stop by and have our afternoon tea. We ordered satay, cucur and also their keropok lekor! Most of us had young coconut juice. The beach is clean and lots of people too...

After a tiring drive, we head back to Beta Apartment and have our rest and shower before we head off for our dinner at Tanjong Ketam. It's about 20-25 mins drive from the Apartment. When we got there, the breeze was so nice and you can smell the scent of the sea. The dishes were served really quick. The food were excellent! Finger licking good! We were there for almost over an hour but we finish the food in less than 30mins! Greedy pigs! hehe

Just after we finish the dinner, one of our friends felt really sick and start vomiting! It has nothing to do with the seafood cos she felt sick before the dinner. Got in the car and drove straight back to the apartment.

Our night activity is to go to Pop Inn and enjoy the live band and also not forgetting our intoxicated drinks ^_^ Pop Inn is our favourite pub. Used to go to Jupiter 8 but it's getting boring there. Our sick friend didn't join us although she insist of going despite her upset stomach! Kesian...rugi rugi....Ah well, there is always a next time...

Went there around 10pm and we were lucky to get seats just infront of the live band. Ordered our drinks and one of new friends who are new to intoxicated drink got drunk so fast and collapse! hehehe...We left a bit early than usual cos we wanted to send our drunk friend back to the apartment. We don't want any unwanted things happen to her.

We had a wonderful time in Labuan although we didn't have any seat in the ferry heading back to brunei! We have bought the ticket in Brunei and was really pissed when we were told that the ferry is full! So many bruniean were pissed off. We bought it early, that mean the seats are meant for us! What happen is that they still sell the ferry tickets knowing it's already full! So we end up sitting in an open space located at the back of the ferry. Good thing it didnt rain!

To summarise my trip to Labuan, it's a good trip and wish to go around labuan again on my next trip there. Anyone wanna join? hehe
